Lebanon’s most dangerous war may be against itself

Do the leaders of parties, sects, and movements realize where they are dragging the country’s future? All indicators confirm the state of separation: psychological, social, and national divorce. There is no effort to reconcile or mend relations between components. Leaders thrive on strife, division, fanaticism, intolerance, seclusion, and fear of others. The people are led toward these, so they distance themselves, hate each other, fight, kill, die, suffer, and are displaced for the sake of a leader who exploits them and their naivety, raising religious, backward, and regressive slogans from the Middle Ages. It is as if nothing has changed over time. These deadly fanaticisms still prevail, always finding someone to feed and ignite them, turning into a fireball that burns everyone.
