Egyptian FM, Equatorial Guinean counterpart probe stronger ties, regional issues

Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates, Badr Abdelatty discussed with Equatorial Guinea’s Foreign Minister Simeon Esono ways to enhance bilateral relations and exchanged views on African issues. This came during a phone call between the two ministers, during which Abdelatty praised the recent momentum in Egyptian–Equatorial Guinean relations. He emphasized Egypt’s keenness to build on this progress, aiming to expand bilateral ties to serve the mutual interests of both countries. He emphasized the importance of strengthening economic and trade cooperation and encouraging Egyptian companies to engage in implementing development projects in Equatorial Guinea, in addition to continuing cooperation in the fields of capacity-building and training national cadres through the projects and programs of the Egyptian Agency of Partnership for Development, the Cairo International Center for Conflict Resolution, Peacekeeping and Peacebuilding, and various Egyptian institutions. In the same context, Minister Abdelatty referred to the ongoing preparations for the Alamein Africa Forum, scheduled to be held in El Alamein next June on the sidelines of the African Union Mid-Year Coordination Summit, expressing hope for the participation of Equatorial Guinean companies in the forum. The two ministers also exchanged views on the latest developments in Africa and ways to support peace, security, and sustainable development efforts. Both sides stressed the importance of continuing coordination and consultation to support joint African action and enhance stability and development across the continent.
