Assistant Foreign Minister for UN and Bilateral Development Cooperation Khaled Anis affirmed Egypt’s keenness to strengthen its historic partnership with the United Nations system in support of national development priorities. During a meeting with UN Resident Coordinator Elena Panova and heads of UN agencies, Anis discussed means of enhancing cooperation and supporting Egypt’s priorities across various development sectors. He said the meeting contributes to strengthening coordination within the framework of the 2023-2027 strategic partnership program aimed at achieving the goals of Egypt Vision 2030 despite ongoing regional challenges. The assistant foreign minister stressed the importance of maximizing the field impact of development partners through the Joint Steering Committee co-chaired by the Foreign Ministry. For her part, Panova reaffirmed the UN’s commitment to supporting Egypt’s development vision, highlighting the importance of development financing and expanding private sector participation in multilateral development efforts.
