Emaar Properties H1 Profit Rises 25.6% to AED 11.14 Billion

Overview:

UAE stock markets advanced this week, with the Dubai Financial Market index rising 2.56 percent across five sessions and the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange gaining ground, driven by investor confidence following regional developments. First-half 2026 corporate earnings exceeded expectations across real estate, energy, and financial sectors. Government initiatives expanded support for small business financing and accelerated digital transformation across customs and health services.

Details:

The Dubai market outperformed Gulf peers, closing at 5,944.50 points as sentiment improved on easing geopolitical tensions. Major gainers included Gulf Cement, up 21 percent; Takaful Insurance, up 12.99 percent; and Oman and Emirates Insurance, up 12.61 percent. Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank and Al Waha Capital each advanced 10 percent.

Corporate earnings reinforced economic momentum. Emaar Properties reported net profits of 11.14 billion dirhams for the first half, up 25.6 percent annually, supported by property sales of 26.6 billion dirhams and revenue growth of 21 percent to 23.9 billion dirhams. Emaar Development recorded profit growth of 43 percent to 6.7 billion dirhams. Agility Global posted first-half profits of 357.8 million dirhams, a 30 percent increase, with revenues reaching 11 billion dirhams, up 25 percent. Dana Gas reported half-year earnings of 393 million dirhams, a 47 percent rise, with revenues increasing 51 percent to 946 million dirhams.

Energy sector strength continued as Fitch confirmed that UAE oil production has fully returned to pre-conflict levels. Abu Dhabi National Oil Company appointed Michael O'Dwyer, Global Co-Head from Morgan Stanley, to lead investment operations, signaling accelerated capital deployment. ADNOC Supply and Trading acquired 11 tankers—three liquefied natural gas carriers and six oil vessels—valued at 4.8 billion dirhams, with three vessels arriving in the third quarter.

Real estate activity remained robust. Dubai property transactions reached 13.88 billion dirhams in early August across 4,232 deals, comprising 6.70 billion dirhams in sales, 5.66 billion dirhams in mortgages, and 1.52 billion dirhams in donations. The sector recorded 214,500 rental contracts over seven months, with 38,200 contracts executed in July alone.

Outlook:

Investors are monitoring regional geopolitical developments and their implications for energy markets and corporate investment strategies. Attention remains on currency strength, global interest rate trajectories, and continued momentum in the real estate and logistics sectors as corporations complete capital expenditure cycles through year-end 2026.
