The Miss World Organization was founded in 1951 by Eric Morley, and the first edition was held in London. According to the organization, the pageant is celebrating its 75th anniversary in 2026, while the 73rd edition is being held at the same time. The discrepancy is due to disruptions to the pageant’s schedule during the coronavirus pandemic. The 2020 edition was canceled, while the 2021 competition was held in March 2022. No competition was held in 2022, before the pageant returned with the 2023 edition, which was held in Mumbai in 2024.
