One person has been confirmed dead and more than 30 are missing after the MV Matui ferry sank off Vanuatu, according to a statement from Prime Minister Jotham Napat’s office. Search and rescue operations are ongoing, with 15 survivors found. Authorities are investigating possible causes, including weather conditions and vessel overloading.
