RIYADH — Saudi Arabia, represented by the Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority (Nazaha), has signed an information-sharing agreement among members of the Global Operational Network of Anti-Corruption Law Enforcement Authorities (GlobE Network).Nazaha President Mazin Al-Kahmous signed the agreement on Tuesday on the sidelines of the GlobE Network’s seventh plenary meeting at the United Nations headquarters in Vienna.Al-Kahmous said the agreement is designed to improve the efficiency of international cooperation and facilitate faster and more secure exchanges of information among anti-corruption law enforcement authorities.He said the enhanced mechanism would support efforts to detect and investigate corruption crimes, prosecute perpetrators and recover assets obtained through corruption.Al-Kahmous thanked Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman for their support for Nazaha and its initiatives at the domestic and international levels.He said Saudi Arabia attaches significant importance to information sharing and international cooperation mechanisms in combating corruption, pointing to the Kingdom’s membership in the International Association of Anti-Corruption Authorities and the GlobE Network.The signing builds on Saudi Arabia’s role in establishing the GlobE Network. During its G20 presidency in 2020, the Kingdom proposed creating a global network and secure platform to facilitate information exchange among anti-corruption law enforcement authorities.The initiative was welcomed by G20 leaders and subsequently became the GlobE Network, which was formally launched under the UN umbrella during the first special session of the UN General Assembly against corruption on June 3, 2021.UN Secretary-General António Guterres welcomed its establishment at the time and praised Saudi Arabia’s role in launching the initiative and promoting international cooperation against corruption.The network has since expanded to include 252 law enforcement authorities from 137 countries, alongside more than 16 organizations participating as observers.Saudi Arabia assumed the presidency of the GlobE Network for the 2025–2027 term in February 2025 after Nazaha's Vice President for International Cooperation Dr. Nasser Abaalkhail was unanimously elected to lead the network.
