NEW YORK — On behalf of Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan, Advisor and Special Envoy to the Foreign Minister for Negotiations and Peace Efforts Dr. Manal Radwan attended the high-level roundtable at the headquarters of Egypt’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York.Egypt hosted the event, titled "From Sharm El-Sheikh to Phase II – Consolidating Peace and early recovery," co-chaired by France, Germany, and the European Commission, with participation from regional and international partners, as well as representatives from various UN organizations and the Board of Peace. Addressing the event, Dr. Radwan expressed deep concern regarding the deteriorating humanitarian situation as winter approaches, stressing the need for aid to enter without obstacles or preconditions, and rejecting the politicization of the humanitarian situation or its use as a tool for pressure or the displacement of Palestinians.She hailed Egypt’s efforts to support the cessation of hostilities, the humanitarian response, early recovery, and reconstruction in Gaza Strip. She emphasized the need for all parties to fully commit to the outcomes of the Sharm El-Sheikh Summit, complete the first phase, and proceed with implementing Phase Two of President Trump’s Comprehensive Plan and UN Security Council Resolution 2803, in a manner that reinforces Palestinian ownership. Dr. Radwan noted that the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has implemented approximately 160 projects in Palestine valued at nearly $500,000, 000, while Saudi Arabia has provided $120 million in direct support to the Palestinian government, in addition to its ongoing support for UNRWA. Dr. Radwan reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s commitment to working with its partners to accelerate early recovery, in a manner that preserves the unity of Palestinian territory, strengthens the institutions of the Palestinian National Authority, and paves the way for a just and lasting peace.
