Pilot Ahmed Adel to run in IATA Board of Governors elections
By Mohamed Attia Captain Ahmed Adel, Chairman and CEO of EgyptAir Holding Company, is participating in the International Air Transport Association (IATA) Annual General Meeting and World Air Transport Summit, currently being held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, with the attendance of global airline executives and senior aviation industry officials from around the world.  Captain Adel, representing EgyptAir, is set to run in the election for the IATA Board of Governors, one of the organisation’s key governing bodies responsible for shaping policies and strategic directions for the global air transport industry. His participation reflects EgyptAir’s commitment to strengthening its presence within international aviation organisations and enhancing its role in discussions on the future of the aviation sector, including environmental sustainability, digital transformation, operational development, and improving the efficiency of air transport worldwide. The IATA meetings are expected to address several key issues of priority to airlines around the world, review industry growth indicators, discuss plans to address economic and operational challenges, and explore ways to strengthen co-operation among member airlines.
