The global star used a composition by the late son of Syrian artist Noura Rahal in a promotional video, bringing Alex Apostolopoulos's music to audiences worldwide.
Global star Justin Bieber has brought the name of the late young musician Alexandros Apostolopoulos (Alex), the son of Syrian artist Nora Rahal, back into the spotlight by featuring one of his original compositions in a promotional campaign for his sunglasses brand, SKYLRK.
Justin Bieber shared a promotional video on his official Instagram account for the SKYLRK Speed Demon sunglasses, featuring interchangeable lenses. In the video, Bieber appears wearing the sunglasses while the soundtrack is a composition by the late musician Alex.
The post sparked widespread engagement from both Arab and international audiences, who viewed the gesture as a remarkable tribute to a gifted young artist whose life was cut tragically short.
Syrian artist Nora Rahal expressed her pride in her late son's legacy by reposting the promotional post with an emotional message:
"Your spirit is present in your music, and today the whole world hears it. Proud of you, my son Alex Apost... Thank you, Justin Bieber, for this appreciation."
Alex's brother, Philipos, also commented on Bieber's post with words of both grief and pride. He said his brother would have been overjoyed to witness such global recognition, noting that the track featured in the campaign was indeed composed by Alex, who passed away only about two weeks before the advertisement was released.

The worldwide attention comes after the tragic death of 23-year-old Alexandros (Alex), whose passing was described by Sabine Nahas, a close friend of Nora Rahal and the sister of Lebanese star Cyrine Abdelnour.
According to Nahas, Alex suffered a devastating injury when his leg struck a glass door in his home. The glass shattered, and a sharp fragment severed the main artery in his leg, causing severe bleeding that resulted in the loss of approximately 4.5 liters of blood.
Despite the severity of his injuries, Alex remained conscious and attempted to reach the car before being transported to a hospital in Beirut. His heart stopped upon arrival, but doctors managed to revive him. He remained in intensive care for five days before passing away.
Nora Rahal mourned her son with a heartfelt message of faith on her social media account, writing:
"He who believes in me, though he may die, he shall live... With full faith and hope in the resurrection of Christ, I bid farewell to my beloved son and angel Alex, and place him in the hands of the Lord."
