Egypt denounces attack on 2 UAE oil tankers in Strait of Hormuz

Egypt has strongly denounced the targeting of two UAE oil tankers while transiting the Strait of Hormuz, describing the incident as a serious violation of international law and a direct threat to maritime security, freedom of navigation and the uninterrupted flow of global trade through one of the world’s most vital waterways. In a statement on Tuesday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reaffirmed its categorical rejection of all acts targeting vessels and civilian infrastructure or endangering the safety of maritime routes and global energy supplies. Egypt stressed the importance of upholding the rules of international law and called for an immediate end to any practices that could fuel tensions and further escalate instability in the Middle East. The statement also expressed Egypt’s full solidarity with the United Arab Emirates, reaffirming Cairo’s support for the UAE in confronting any threats to its security and national interests.
