The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities announced that Egyptian citizens will receive complimentary access to all open antiquities museums nationwide on Monday. The ministry noted that the free admission policy excludes three major landmark institutions: the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir, the Grand Egyptian Museum, and the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization. Standard ticketing and operational regulations will remain active at these locations throughout the day. International Museum Day is organized annually on May 18 by the International Council of Museums to highlight the role of cultural institutions in society. The global theme focuses on how museums serve as vital hubs for community dialogue, education, and cross-cultural connectivity.
