Zamalek clinches Egyptian Premier League title

Zamalek SC has officially secured the Egyptian Premier League title for the 2025-2026 season following a 1-0 victory over Ceramica Cleopatra.The match, held at Cairo International Stadium, served as the final hurdle in the league’s championship phase.With this win, Zamalek raised their points tally to 56, comfortably sitting at the top of the table and sparking widespread celebrations among their fans. The breakthrough came early in the match when Palestinian striker Oday Dabbagh capitalized on a defensive error in the 8th minute.Dabbagh calmly slotted the ball past goalkeeper Mohamed Bassam to give the White Knights an early lead.Despite a goal being disallowed by VAR at the start of the second half, Zamalek maintained their composure and defensive discipline to hold onto their slim advantage until the final whistle. The victory was preserved thanks to a standout performance by goalkeeper Mohamed Awad.In the 56th minute, Ceramica Cleopatra was awarded a penalty, which was taken by Ahmed Belhadj.Awad produced a spectacular save to deny the equalizer, a moment that proved to be the turning point of the match. His heroics ensured that Zamalek stayed ahead during a high-pressure period, effectively securing the championship.
