There is no intention to “make changes within the government,” though both the Presidency and the Premiership have “reservations regarding the performance of certain ministers,” sources told MTV on Monday.
“Nawaf Salam is dissatisfied with the performance of Minister of Education Rima Karami, while Joseph Aoun is dissatisfied with the performance of certain ministers affiliated with him,” the sources said.
Lebanese Forces sources meanwhile told MTV that dismissing Energy Minister Joe Saddi is not currently on the table, while noting that “resignation, or the threat thereof, is being considered," in connection with the electricity crisis.
“We will not allow it to be said later that the Lebanese Forces or its minister failed to deliver results; the aim is to hold everyone accountable for their responsibilities,” the sources said.
MTV meanwhile reported that a general strike across all sectors is likely to be announced early next week due to the deteriorating socio-economic conditions.
