ALBAWABA - The argument between the CEOs started over Musk’s Starlink which US airlines are adopting at a rapid pace for their inflight internet; all with the exception of Delta Airlines which refuses to do business with Elon Musk.
Starlink is by far the fastest internet in the sky today, being readily available, quick to install, and having no latency due to its advantage of low earth orbit satellites.
Delta Airlines, one of the U.S. big four airlines, is falling behind the rest – United, Southwest, and American Airlines – due to the CEO, Ed Bastian, refusing to do business with Musk and even trashing him online, saying: "We do not want to be with Elon Musk. Trust me."

Musk responded in an X post, saying: “Delta wanted to make it painful, difficult and expensive for their customers. Hard to see how that is a winning strategy.” Adding that CEO Ed Bastian “will lose his job over this.”

Delta Airlines opted to go with Amazon’s Leo for in-flight internet instead, the main reasons behind the decision being that it’s cheaper, and Delta could get a better financial deal bundling Wi-Fi with Amazon Studios content and cloud services.
Moreover, Amazon would allow their system to be gated by Delta’s Sync portal – something which Starlink has categorically refused.
