UN extends partial Sudan arms embargo for a month while talks continue on US demand for a total ban

The UN Security Council unanimously extended the arms embargo on Sudan’s Darfur region by a month. The extension allows more time to debate a US proposal to expand the embargo nationwide, amidst objections from Russia.
