UN extends Darfur arms embargo by two months

The UN Security Council has extended the arms embargo on Sudan's Darfur region for two months, rejecting a proposal from the U.S. to broaden the embargo to the entire country due to opposition from Russia and China. This extension comes amidst ongoing violence in Sudan, where the conflict has resulted in tens of thousands of deaths and millions displaced.
