Temperatures across parts of the UAE are expected to push close to the 50°C mark today, making it one of the hottest days of the week, with an increase in humidity and the possibility of fog in the early morning hours.Mercury on the riseAccording to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM), the weather will remain fair across the country today, with low clouds appearing over eastern areas. However, the mercury is expected to spike, with inland temperatures forecast to reach between 43°C and 48°C, while coastal areas will see highs ranging from 36°C to 42°C.Major cities are seeing higher-than-usual temperatures, too. Abu Dhabi is forecast to hit 45°C, with Dubai and Sharjah both expected to reach 42°C. Al Ain will hit 46°C, while Liwa will be the hottest location in the country today, at 47°C.Fog alertThe NCM has also issued a fog advisory for some coastal and internal areas. With maximum humidity ranging between 80% to 85%, there is a high chance of fog formation, with deterioration in horizontal visibility. If you’re commuting on busy highways and internal roads during these hours, stay vigilant and drive cautiously.Rough nighttime sea conditionsSea conditions are expected to be challenging today, according to the NCM.
