UAE weather forecast: Rising humidity, mist and 49°C heat expected

Dubai: The mercury is on the rise today, with temperatures in the mid- to high-40s, as the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) forecasts fair weather and partly cloudy skies.Some convective clouds may appear eastward by the afternoon today, so residents in regions like Fujairah may experience scattered rainfall.Warm climateExpect a hot summer day today, across the UAE.The NCM forecasts coastal and island regions to experience highs between 40°C and 46°C today, while internal regions will be even warmer, at 44°C to 49°C.Five emirates – Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain and Ras Al Khaimah – will see a maximum temperature of 45°C today, while Abu Dhabi will peak at 44°C. Fujairah will remain relatively cooler, with a peak of 37°C.Humidity overnightThe NCM forecasts light to moderate southeasterly to northeasterly winds, freshening at times, and averaging speeds of 10 to 20km/h. The authorities also warn of building humidity tonight and on Friday morning over some coastal areas, with a probability of mist formation.The NCM also advises that residents drive carefully, if you’re out and about early in the morning tomorrow, as resultant fog may cause reduced visibility on the roads.Calm seasSea conditions are expected to remain slight in both the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman, according to the NCM.
