UAE temperatures to drop by up to 6°C in November

Abu Dhabi: The UAE National Center of Meteorology has forecast that maximum and minimum temperatures across the UAE will fall by 4°C to 6°C in November compared with October, as the sun appears to move southwards and the country is gradually affected by the extension of the Siberian high-pressure system.

The centre said November falls within the second transitional period and is characterised by moderate daytime temperatures and cooler conditions at night.

The Siberian high-pressure system is expected to extend gradually towards the region, particularly during the second half of the month, leading to a continued decline in temperatures. Conditions may become cold at times, especially at night in mountainous and some inland areas.

The UAE will also be affected by surface low-pressure systems extending from the Red Sea and the east. When accompanied by upper-air low-pressure systems from the east or west, cloud cover may increase and cumulonimbus clouds could develop over some areas, particularly in the eastern parts of the country.

Prevailing winds during November are expected to be southeasterly in the morning, becoming westerly to northwesterly during the day. Wind speeds may increase on some days, particularly with cumulonimbus cloud activity.

Relative humidity is also expected to increase, particularly during the early morning, as moderate air masses move over the Gulf towards the country. This could create conditions for light to dense fog to form over scattered areas.
