UAE strongly condemns Iranian drone attack, warns it reserves right to respond

Dubai: The UAE has strongly condemned an Iranian drone attack on the country, describing it as a dangerous escalation and a direct threat to its sovereignty, security and stability.In a statement on Monday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the attack on the State using an unmanned aerial vehicle, was intercepted and dealt with by air defence systems over the territorial waters, calling it a dangerous escalation that constitutes a flagrant violation of the State’s sovereignty, security and stability, and a direct threat to the safety of citizens and residents."These aggressive attacks represent a dangerous escalation and an unacceptable act of aggression, and a direct threat to the security, stability and territorial integrity of the State, in contravention of the principles of international law and the Charter of the United Nations," the Ministry said.The Ministry stressed that the UAE would not tolerate any threat to its security or sovereignty under any circumstances and reserved its “full and legitimate right” to respond to the attack in a manner that safeguards its sovereignty, national security and territorial integrity, as well as the safety of citizens and residents, in accordance with international law.It also affirmed that this targeting is condemned and rejected by all legal and humanitarian standards, stressing the necessity of immediately stopping these aggressive attacks, in a manner that ensures full commitment to the cessation of all hostilities.The UAE held Iran fully responsible for these attacks and their repercussions.
