Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi Police General Command urged drivers to exercise caution and adhere to safe driving guidelines during the expected rainfall and weather fluctuations in the coming days. They emphasised the importance of checking weather conditions before setting out, reducing speed, and maintaining a safe distance between vehicles to ensure the safety of all road users. The authorities warned against approaching wadis (valleys) and areas prone to flooding, stressing the need to follow the instructions of the relevant authorities, avoid distractions such as using mobile phones for photography while driving, and abide by the speed limits posted on traffic signs and electronic road markings, taking into account the prevailing weather and road conditions. The Traffic and Security Patrols Directorate emphasised the importance of driving cautiously and attentively during inclement weather, particularly given the potential for reduced visibility and vehicles skidding on wet roads. They noted that following traffic regulations and taking preventative measures contributes to reducing accidents and enhancing the safety of drivers and all road users.
