Dubai: Updated statistics from the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation show that the number of citizens working in the private sector has risen to more than 190,000, employed by more than 32,000 private companies, as of the end of the first half of 2026.The ministry indicated that the Emiratisation programme continues to achieve significant results with the support and guidance of the UAE’s wise leadership and the strengthening of partnerships with the private sector. It also continues to consolidate its role as an active partner in building a competitive labour market based on efficiency and sustainability. The ministry noted that 95% of establishments covered by Emiratisation policies achieved their targets for the first half of this year.The ministry explained that this growth is the result of a package of constructive partnerships and development programmes launched by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation and the UAE Competitiveness Council (NAFES) in cooperation with private-sector institutions. These initiatives have contributed to enhancing employment opportunities for citizens and integrating them into the workforce efficiently and sustainably.The continued increase in the number of citizens working in the private sector confirms the effectiveness of Emiratisation policies and initiatives under the guidance and vision of the UAE’s wise leadership.These efforts are delivering a remarkable positive impact by increasing the number of citizens joining jobs offered by the private sector and strengthening positive perceptions of working in the sector.
