UAE President, Sultan of Oman discuss strengthening ties and regional developments

Abu Dhabi: UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq of Oman discussed the longstanding fraternal relations between the two countries and ways to further strengthen cooperation across various sectors, particularly in the economic and development fields.The talks took place during a meeting in Abu Dhabi as Sheikh Mohamed received Sultan Haitham, who is on a fraternal visit to the UAE.The two leaders reviewed opportunities to advance bilateral cooperation in support of shared interests and the continued prosperity and wellbeing of the peoples of both countries.They also exchanged views on a number of regional and international issues of mutual concern, with particular focus on developments in the Middle East and efforts aimed at promoting security, stability and peace across the region.Sheikh Mohamed and Sultan Haitham reaffirmed the importance of continued consultation and coordination in addressing common challenges facing the region and strengthening cooperation to safeguard regional security and stability.The meeting was attended by His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, First Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance; His Highness Sheikh Suroor bin Mohammed Al Nahyan; His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs; His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs; His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan; His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Adviser to the UAE President; His Excellency Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, Minister of State; as well as a number of ministers and senior officials.Also attending were members of the Omani delegation accompanying Sultan Haitham, including His Highness Sayyid Shihab bin Tariq Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs; His Highness Sayyid Bilarab bin Haitham Al Said, Minister of State and Governor of Muscat; and several ministers and senior officials.Sultan Haitham arrived in the UAE earlier in the day and was received at the Presidential Airport in Abu Dhabi by Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, along with a number of sheikhs, ministers and senior officials.
