UAE President appoints Major General Dr Jasim Al Marzooqi as Director-General of Federal Authority for Ambulance and Civil Defence

Abu Dhabi: UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has issued a Federal Decree appointing Major General Dr Jasim Mohammed Hassan Al Marzooqi as Director-General of the Federal Authority for Ambulance and Civil Defence, with the rank of Ministry Undersecretary.Under the decree, Dr Al Marzooqi is transferred from the Ministry of Interior to assume his new role.Dr Al Marzooqi has served as Commander-in-Chief of Civil Defence at the Ministry of Interior since 2015. Prior to that, he was Deputy Director-General of Human Resources at Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters between 2006 and 2015, and held several leadership positions in human resources, training and forensic laboratories.Throughout his career, he has received several honours and awards, including the Knight's Medal from the International Civil Defence Organisation in Geneva, the Distinguished Leadership Award from the International Fire Protection Association, and the Security Cooperation Medal.Dr Al Marzooqi holds a PhD in Human Resources Science from the University of the West of England in Bristol, United Kingdom, and a Master's degree in Analytical Chemistry from the American University in Washington, DC.He has also overseen the launch of a number of national initiatives related to early warning systems, fire prevention, and the establishment of specialised academies, laboratories and training programmes.
