Abu Dhabi: The new executive regulations for the UAE Federal Traffic Law have set a maximum driving time of nine hours within a 24-hour period.
These regulations will come into effect on January 1, 2027.
The regulations have also approved new controls and requirements to regulate the process of registering and licensing vehicles of individuals residing in the country, specifying the maximum number of vehicles that residents are allowed to own. According to Article (89) regarding vehicle licensing application, resident individuals are licensed to own a maximum of two vehicles. If they wish to register or renew an additional vehicle, an additional fee is imposed for each vehicle that is registered or renewed, provided that the number of vehicles licensed to one resident does not exceed five vehicles.
