Dubai: The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE) said the latest decision under the Wage Protection System (WPS) adopts a gradual approach that gives establishments the opportunity to rectify their status and address delayed wage payment cases.In a post published on its official account on the social media platform X, the ministry said the decision aims to strengthen compliance and support labour market stability.According to MOHRE, the Wage Protection System follows a balanced and progressive mechanism in addressing such cases, beginning with electronic monitoring and notifications to employers before any administrative measures are applied.The ministry explained that this approach encourages preventive compliance and helps resolve violations at an early stage.MOHRE added that the decision aims to enhance monitoring efficiency and governance through early intervention, while supporting the protection of workers' rights, stable employment relationships and business continuity.The ministry said the decision also reinforces the competitiveness of the UAE labour market, strengthens its attractiveness to global talent and boosts confidence in the business environment while supporting the sustainable growth of the national labour market.According to information shared by MOHRE, the decision does not introduce any new substantive obligations for employers, but improves existing procedures and governance mechanisms, with particular focus on labour-intensive sectors with large-scale operations.The ministry noted that the Wage Protection System processes wage payments exceeding AED37 billion every month and contributes to providing a stable and transparent work environment aligned with international best practices.
