Dubai: The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP) confirmed that there are no cases of Ebola virus infection in the country. The competent authorities continue to monitor global health developments according to the highest levels of readiness and health surveillance, noting that the UAE continues to maintain advanced levels of health preparedness.The Ministry explained that the relevant authorities in the UAE are continuing close coordination with the World Health Organisation (WHO) and other relevant international health bodies regarding a traveler who had visited the UAE and whose infection was announced days after he left the country and arrived in Uganda. None of the health authorities in the country recorded him visiting any health facility during his stay in the UAE.Within the framework of the state’s preparedness and monitoring system, the competent authorities had already activated the necessary health procedures, including risk assessment, contact tracing, and approved precautionary measures, in accordance with national procedures and relevant international standards, and no cases of infection were recorded.MOHAP affirmed that the UAE continues to maintain a high level of health preparedness and surveillance, and will continue to closely monitor developments in coordination with partners and relevant international bodies.MOHAP also stressed the need to avoid spreading rumours or news from unknown sources and to obtain information only from official sources.
