UAE launches ‘Safe School Year’ campaign as students return to classrooms

Dubai: The UAE Ministry of Interior’s Child Protection Center has launched the ‘Safe School Year’ awareness campaign at the start of the new academic year, focusing on keeping students safe during their journeys to and from school and creating a secure and supportive environment on campus.The campaign targets students, parents and educational supervisors, encouraging practices aimed at ensuring a safe, secure and stable school environment.As part of the initiative, the Child Protection Center is conducting lectures and field activities in schools, giving students an opportunity to engage directly with specialists and learn how to respond appropriately to situations they may encounter in their daily lives.Staying safe on the journey to schoolThe campaign highlights safety during students’ journeys to and from school, including compliance with safe transportation guidelines and school bus safety procedures.Students are encouraged to remain calm and avoid crowding when boarding and getting off school buses. They are also urged to cooperate with educational supervisors and follow their instructions.Tolerance, respect and cooperationBeyond transportation, the campaign focuses on positive behaviour within schools, reinforcing the values of tolerance, respect and cooperation among students.Students are encouraged to build relationships based on good conduct and acceptance of others, helping create a positive and supportive learning environment.Role of teachers and supervisorsThe campaign also seeks to raise awareness among teaching and supervisory staff, highlighting their role in monitoring and guiding students.Their involvement is aimed at further strengthening security and safety across the school environment.
