UAE condemns Iranian drone attack targeting Kurdistan Region in Iraq

Abu Dhabi: The United Arab Emirates has strongly condemned the Iranian drone attack that targeted the office of Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani and the residence of the Director of the Protection Agency in Erbil, in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) denounced the attack, which involved two drones, and described it as a flagrant violation of the sovereignty of the Republic of Iraq and the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.The ministry said the attack represents a threat to the security and stability of Iraq and the wider region.The UAE reaffirmed its full solidarity with the Republic of Iraq and the government of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, stressing its support for all measures aimed at safeguarding security, stability and the rule of law.The ministry also reiterated the UAE's consistent position rejecting actions that undermine state sovereignty, threaten regional security or endanger civilian safety.
