The UAE's air defence systems are currently dealing with missile and drone attacks originating from Iran, the Ministry of Defence said on Friday May8, 2026.The ministry also confirmed that the sounds heard in various parts of the country are the result of the UAE air defence systems intercepting ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and drones.UAE air defence systems are actively engaging with missiles and UAV threats, it said in a post on X platform.
