President Donald Trump stated on Friday that once the war in Iran is over, fuel prices will drop significantly.
In an interview on KCMO Radio, the U.S. president said: "We will see an Iran free of nuclear weapons. Iran will not have a nuclear weapon, nor will it have a nuclear weapon, and this will change very soon. Sooner or later, the situation will change very soon."
He added: "Things will end soon. Don't forget Iran. I didn't start the war with Iran, they started it with us in 1979. They've been brutal for many years, and you know, everyone says it's 47 years. But they said: Fine, it started now. They've been saying this for a long time, about four years. It's 51 or 52 years. They've been absolutely terrible to the world. They're the bullies of the Middle East, but they killed many Americans."
The U.S. president referred to the operation of killing Qasem Soleimani, emphasizing: "We killed Soleimani. He was an evil genius, but we took him out. The reason for killing him is that he was the father of roadside bombs. You know, they plant bombs on roads that blow up our soldiers. We lost many soldiers, and those who survived lost their legs, and in many cases, lost their arms. We eliminated them, and as you know, this has been going on for years, and other presidents should have done it."
He added: "They have 159 ships. They had 159 ships. All of them are at the bottom of the sea. They have not a single ship. Their aircraft, 268 planes. All of them scattered on runways into very small pieces... They have all disappeared."
He noted that "Their radar is down. Their air defenses are down. Frankly, their leaders are gone. A small problem. I mean, their leaders are completely gone. We don't know who we are negotiating with. But those are minor details."
He stressed that Iran wants to make a deal, "but you know, they have to make a deal. I assure you, we need a guarantee of never having a nuclear weapon."
The U.S. president reiterated: "They are the number one sponsor of terrorism in the world, and they would have used a nuclear weapon. They would have blown up the Middle East and then attacked Europe. As you know, it doesn't matter. They would destroy cities if they got the chance. They wouldn't hesitate for a moment. They are very crazy people."
