Trump claims U.S. has secured full control of Iran’s nuclear ambitions

U.S. President Donald Trump announced Thursday evening that the United States had secured control over everything it had sought to control in Iran since its presence there began seven months ago.

"It doesn't matter what proposals Iran is considering. They will not have a nuclear weapon, and they will not take any action without our approval," Trump said.

"The Iranians do nothing without our approval," Trump added, saying he would "rather not destroy the rest of the country if possible."

However, he noted that a decision must be made on whether to proceed with further measures or approve the agreement.

Trump urged Republicans to abolish the filibuster in the U.S. Senate.

He also promised to "do a lot of things over the next two weeks," emphasizing that the United States remains on "high alert."

Trump defended U.S. Secretary of War Pete Hegseth amid Democratic calls for his removal and dismissal, saying that he had "done a great job."

Trump also indicated that the Russia-Ukraine war was very close to a settlement.
