Dubai: Getting around Al Quoz is about to become easier from tomorrow, with the Roads and Transport Authority’s (RTA) Bus on Demand expanding their service network to the area.In an announcement on its official social media channels, Bus on Demand confirmed that service will now include the Al Quoz area, and as part of the launch promotion, passengers can enjoy unlimited free rides on the service from Wednesday, July 30, until August 16 as part of the launch promotion.What is Bus on Demand?Bus on Demand is an RTA-operated shared transport service that allows passengers to book a bus through a mobile app instead of waiting at a fixed bus stop. The service is designed for shorter trips within designated communities, with passengers selecting both their pick-up and drop-off locations.Outside promotional offers like the ones launched for Al Quoz, the standard fare is AED 5 per trip. Payment can typically be made using a nol card or your credit card.How to get the free rides in Al QuozFrom tomorrow, you will be able to book rides in the Al Quoz area through the Bus on Demand app. You can book a ride by following these steps:Download the ‘Dubai Bus on Demand’ app, which is available for Apple and Android users.Click on ‘Get started’.Enter your mobile number.You will receive a one-time password via SMS on your number.Enable location services for the app, which will then pick up on your current location. If you are in an area which is not part of the service zones, you will see the notification ‘Out of Zone’.Select the number of passengers.Ensure the location is accurate and move the location pin if required.Next, select your drop-off point, by entering the name of the location, or selecting it on the map. For the current promotional service, both your pick-up and drop-off points should be within the service area in Al Quoz.Next, select the bus you wish to take.
