UAE national will be able to use automated passport screening gates at Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi Airport by the end of August 2026, Thailand has announced.The measure will allow Emirati passengers to complete immigration procedures through automated gates, helping reduce waiting times and ease congestion at immigration checkpoints, especially during peak hours when thousands of passengers pass through the airport.A total of 31 nationalities will benefit from the expansional of smart gate services, officials said.However, all the other entry requirements remain in place, including completing the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) before arrival, in line with guidelines issued by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs.Suvarnabhumi Airport receives around 70,000 international passengers daily, and Thai authorities expect the expansion to increase the proportion of arriving travellers able to use automated gates to about 53 per cent.
