Syria arrests former Republican Guards general

Syria's internal security forces have arrested Mard Mohammad, a former brigadier general known as the 'Guardian of the Capital' and linked to the ousted president Bashar Assad's Republican Guards. Mohammad had a significant role in military operations in Damascus Countryside and previously led campaigns such as 'God’s Promise Is True.' This arrest follows the earlier detention of another senior Republican Guard commander, Ahmad Mohammad Ismail, who was involved in key military operations under the previous regime.
