Spider-Man: Brand New Day breaks Star Wars box office record

ALBAWABA - Spider-Man: Brand New Day has made box office history by surpassing Star Wars.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens grossed $936 million in 2015, making it the highest-grossing picture in US history by around $150 million. It was a large number that was supposed to be unattainable, and while a few films attempted to approach it during the last decade, they never came close.

One of these films was 2021's Spider-Man: No Way Home, which grossed $814 million. Most people saw the film as a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The intersection of three different periods of Spider-Man No sequel could ever surpass the intersection of three different periods of Spider-Man., especially by its sequel.

But then came the sequel, and it was evident from the start that something exceptional was happening. First, Spider-Man: Homecoming broke the all-time opening record set by Avengers: Endgame, grossing nearly $400 million in a few days. It quickly reached $1 billion, then $2 billion, and then everything changed. Could it go over $900 million? Could it beat Star Wars?

Of course, there are other aspects to consider here. The most notable examples are inflation and premium film formats. Spider-Man attracted fewer viewers than Star Wars. They simply paid extra for it. But that number has never been important in Hollywood. If it did, Gone With the Wind would be the highest-grossing film of all time by a significant margin. We know that ticket costs rise. We acknowledge this. We have designated the next item as the most important.

Impressive. Most Impressive. From a galaxy far, far away, everyone at Lucasfilm sends massive congratulations to Destin, Tom, everyone at Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios and the entire team behind Spider-Man: Brand New Day on setting a new domestic box office record and taking… pic.twitter.com/0GhXTwSbda

The next film is Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and it's always exciting to be present for history. This moment is history. Could it be the first film to gross $1 billion in the United States? That appears improbable, given $65 million in additional revenue two months after publication seems impossible. But so has every other record that the picture has broken thus far.
