Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah held talks in Washington on Monday with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio on regional and international developments. They tackled the security and political developments in the region and the situation in Yemen. They underlined the importance of protecting the safety and freedom of navigation in international waterways, especially the Straits of Hormuz and Bab al-Mandeb, which will consolidate regional stability and the flow of commercial vessels and global supply chains. They stressed the importance of continuing coordination and consultations between Riyadh and Washington over issues of common interest, and backing diplomatic efforts aimed at addressing regional crises and bolstering security, peace and stability. Prince Faisal and Rubio discussed the strategic relations between Saudi Arabia and the US and means to consolidate and develop them in various fields to benefit the peoples of both nations. The meeting was attended by Saudi Ambassador to Washington Princess Reema bint Bandar bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Foreign Affairs for Lebanese Affairs Prince Yazid bin Mohammed bin Fahd Al-Farhan, Special Envoy and Advisor of the Minister of Foreign Affairs for Negotiations and Peace Efforts Manal Radwan and Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs Prince Musab bin Mohammed Al-Farhan.
