Saudi Commerce Ministry recalls 27,360 Chevrolet vehicles over airbag defect

RIYADH — More than 27,000 Chevrolet vehicles have been recalled by the Ministry of Commerce due to a defect in the driver-side airbag inflator that may cause sharp metal fragments to be ejected in the event of an accident, potentially resulting in serious injury or death. The recall affects 27,360 Chevrolet vehicesl, specificallt the Trax, Cruze, and Aveo models. The affected model years are 2010–2017 for the Trax, 2012–2018 for the Cruze, and 2010–2017 for the Aveo. The Ministry urged owners to verify whether their vehicles are included in the recall by checking their Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) through Recalls.sa. Customers were also urged to contact General Motors, Aljomaih Automotive Company, or Universal Motors Agencies to have the necessary repairs carried out free of charge.
