GENEVA — CEO of the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), Dr. Abdullah Alghamdi, discussed strengthening international cooperation on AI ethics with UNESCO Director-General during the AI for Good Global Summit from July 6-7. The meeting, held on the sidelines of the Global AI Governance Dialogue on Tuesday, brought together Dr. Alghamdi and Dr. Khaled El-Enany, UNESCO Director-General, to review strategic cooperation between Saudi Arabia and UNESCO in artificial intelligence and explore ways to develop ethical policies governing these advanced technologies. These include launching the National Principles for AI Ethics, awarding AI ethics labels to more than 60 companies across the Kingdom, and introducing the National AI Index to measure the maturity of AI adoption across government entities, ensuring responsible governance that supports human-centered innovation.
