The Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources processed 1,274 applications for industrial customs exemptions in June 2026 as part of its efforts to support local industry and enhance its global competitiveness. The ministry’s spokesperson Jarrah Al-Jarrah said the processed applications covered 4,662 items of raw materials and 13,974 items of machinery, equipment, and spare parts. The industrial customs exemption service is part of a broad package of incentives, enablers, and services offered by the Kingdom’s industry and mining ecosystem, Al-Jarrah noted. These initiatives aim to facilitate the industrial investor’s journey at all stages of a project, from the initial idea through empowerment, production, and export. The spokesperson added that the industrial customs exemption service aligns with the objectives of the National Industrial Strategy by enabling and developing the Saudi industrial sector. It underscores the ministry’s key role in stimulating and accelerating the growth of the national industrial base, he said. Al-Jarrah noted that industrial facilities can obtain customs exemption approvals within a short timeframe through streamlined procedures available via the ministry’s digital services platform, Senaei Platform. The ministry, through the customs exemption service, aims to support and encourage local factories, develop national production sectors, reduce production costs, and create new industrial opportunities. The service allows licensed industrial facilities to obtain customs exemptions on imports of machinery, equipment, spare parts, raw materials, semi-manufactured materials, and packaging materials directly required for production.
