Saudi Arabia Calls for Enhanced Global Cooperation to Address Humanitarian Challenges
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia reaffirmed the importance of strengthening international cooperation to address growing humanitarian challenges and bridge the gap between escalating needs and available resources, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Thursday. The statement was delivered by Saudi Arabia’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Dr. Abdulaziz Alwasil, during the 2026 Humanitarian Affairs Segment of the Economic and Social Council. Ambassador Alwasil highlighted that the Kingdom ranked second globally and first among Arab countries in humanitarian assistance in 2025, underscoring its leading role in supporting international humanitarian efforts and providing aid to vulnerable populations and communities affected by crises worldwide. He also reiterated Saudi Arabia’s steadfast commitment to supporting global efforts to alleviate human suffering, strengthen resilience, and promote recovery in affected communities, emphasizing that humanitarian action is a vital investment in security, stability, and sustainable development for all.
