RIYADH — Several key milestones have been reached in Riyadh’s preparations to host Expo 2030, including the completion of 8 million cubic meters of excavation and backfilling. Under the theme "Foresight for Tomorrow," construction continues to advance, with 2 kilometers of the 7.5-kilometer main service corridor now completed. The project has also recorded 2.1 million safe working hours without injuries, underscoring its commitment to workplace safety. Environmental efforts have included the safe reintroduction of 80 creatures and the careful relocation of 719 trees. Riyadh Expo 2030 has also signed a cooperation agreement with Expo 2027 Belgrade and established a Structured Knowledge Transfer & Observer Program. According to the Expo 2030 Riyadh official website, the event will span 6 million square meters and feature hundreds of unique pavilions organized around three subthemes: transformational technology, sustainable solutions, and prosperous people. The website also says the Expo site will be strategically located in northern Riyadh, approximately 10 minutes from King Khalid International Airport, with a dedicated Riyadh Metro station under construction. The location was selected for its accessibility, connectivity, and integration with the city's long-term urban development plans.
