Riyadh airport urges passengers to check flight status before departure

RIYADH — King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh issued a travel advisory on Thursday, urging passengers to contact their airlines directly and confirm their flight status before heading to the airport.The advisory came as the Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen announced the interception and destruction of three Houthi ballistic missiles, including two launched toward Riyadh and a third targeting Khamis Mushait.Coalition spokesman Maj. Gen. Turki Al-Maliki confirmed that all three missiles had been intercepted and destroyed.The latest missile attacks followed strikes on two Saudi airports that killed three people and injured 36 others earlier this week.According to the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA), two expatriate women, one Moroccan and one Algerian, were killed and 28 people were injured in an attack on Abha International Airport on Tuesday.A separate attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh on Wednesday killed a Sudanese resident and injured eight others.The injured at Abha airport included Saudi citizens and expatriates from Bangladesh and the Philippines, while those wounded at Riyadh airport included five Saudi citizens, two Egyptian residents and one Pakistani resident.
