Qatar reaffirmed its full solidarity with Saudi Arabia, expressing support for all legitimate measures Riyadh takes to protect its sovereignty, security, territorial integrity and interests. It stressed that Saudi Arabia’s security is inseparable from Qatar’s and forms an integral part of the collective security of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states. This was discussed during a phone call between Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani and Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan. The two officials reviewed bilateral relations and ways to strengthen cooperation, as well as the latest regional developments, particularly diplomatic efforts and coordination to de-escalate tensions and promote regional security and stability. Sheikh Mohammed reaffirmed Qatar’s full support for all efforts to defuse tensions and reach a comprehensive agreement that would achieve lasting peace in the region.
