Pro-Palestinian demonstrators urge Rome to end cooperation with Israel

Pro-Palestinian demonstrators gathered outside Rome City Hall in Rome on Thursday, urging municipal authorities to end the city’s institutional cooperation with Israel, Anadolu reports. Despite high temperatures, protesters assembled in Campidoglio Square carrying Palestinian flags and banners while seeking to make their voices heard by members of the City Council meeting inside the municipal building. They also chanted pro-Palestinian slogans and protested Israeli attacks on Lebanon. Maya Issa, president of Palestinian Students in Italy, said demonstrators had once again gathered outside City Hall to call on Rome Mayor Roberto Gualtieri and the municipal administration to terminate all existing agreements with Israel.
