President Sisi affirms Egypt’s Keenness on expanding cooperation with Japan in education domain

CAIRO, April 29 (MENA) – President Abdel Fattah al- Sisi affirmed Egypt’s commitment to expanding cooperation with Japan in education and educational development spheres with a view to supporting efforts aimed at improving curricula and raising quality of education as well as maximizing use of modern technology in the sector, including artificial intelligence to better prepare students for labor market needs. During President Sisi’s meeting Wednesday with President of Hiroshima University Mitsuo Ochi, in the presence of Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, Minister of Education Mohamed Abdel Latif, Vice President of the University Shinji Kaneko and Japanese ambassador to Cairo Fumio Iwai, the president voiced Egypt’s appreciation for distinguished bilateral relations with Japan and the longstanding partnership in basic and higher education, praising fruitful cooperation with Hiroshima University, Presidential Spokesperson Mohamed el-Shennawy said. For his part, the University’s preisdent voiced pleasure at visiting Egypt and meeting the president, underscoring the University’s pride in its ongoing cooperation with the Egyptian government and commending Egypt’s efforts to develop educational programs and reform the education system. During his visit, the president of the University reviewed Egypt’s efforts to apply modern educational methods, affirming Hiroshima University’s keenness on working with the Egyptian government to strengthen cooperation and support Egypt’s priorities in this regard.
