PM: Presidential follow-up enabled New Delta completion in record time

Egypt’s Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli has reaffirmed that the New Delta project represents a major integrated national achievement and stands as a source of pride for all Egyptians, stressing that the project reflects the state’s strategic vision to strengthen food security, expand agricultural development and support sustainable economic growth. Speaking during the weekly Cabinet meeting held at the government headquarters in the New Capital, Prime Minister Madbouli highlighted that the New Delta project was completed within a record timeframe, attributing this achievement to the continuous follow-up and directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and the coordinated efforts of the relevant state institutions. The prime minister emphasised the unprecedented scale of the project, noting that the agricultural land provided through the New Delta initiative exceeds the combined cultivated area of four agricultural governorates. He stated that the project alone adds more than 20 per cent to Egypt’s cultivated land area, representing a major step in enhancing agricultural production and strengthening national food security. Madbouli further explained that the project reflects the state’s broader commitment to increasing cultivated land and expanding the production of strategic crops in line with presidential directives aimed at securing Egypt’s future food requirements. He also noted that the project would create significant employment opportunities for young people in agriculture and related industries. The prime minister further highlighted the important contribution of private sector institutions to the implementation of the New Delta project, reiterating the government’s commitment to supporting and expanding the role of the private sector across various economic and development activities through additional incentives and facilities. The prime minister also reviewed several presidential activities conducted during the week, including President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s follow-up on projects in the new and renewable energy sector. In this respect, Premier Madbouli highlighted presidential directives aimed at expanding renewable energy projects, reducing dependence on conventional fuel sources and creating a balanced energy mix, supporting Egypt’s ambition to become a leading regional centre for green energy. Additionally, the prime minister reviewed recent government activities, including his inspection tour of development and restoration projects in Cairo Governorate, reaffirming the state’s continued efforts to revitalise historic districts and preserve their cultural and civilisational significance.
