Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly chaired the meeting of the Supreme Council of Energy to review current energy supplies, including electricity, petroleum products, and natural gas, which are secured in coordination with different ministries to ensure uninterrupted services for productive sectors despite regional and international challenges. Attendees included Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Hussein Issa, Minister of Transport Kamel al-Wazir, Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Hani Sewilam, Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy Mahmoud Esmat, Minister of Local Development and Environment Manal Awad, Minister of Finance Ahmed Kouchouk, Minister of Foreign Affairs Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Petroleum Karim Badawi, Minister of Housing Randa el Minshawi, State Minister for Military Production Major General Salah Suleiman, Minister of Planning Ahmed Rostom, Minister of Industry Khaled Hashem, and SCZone Chairman Waleed Gamal El-Din. Spokesperson for the Cabinet Mohamed al-Homsany said the meeting confirmed the government’s continued efforts to meet the energy needs of national and investment projects to ensure sustainability and maximize production capacities. The Council prioritized securing energy for industrial projects to drive economic growth and emphasized continuous coordination with investors to resolve any obstacles. Discussions focused on providing energy for various industrial activities within a strategy aimed at supporting modern industry localization and technology transfer in line with sustainable development plans. Energy provision for the production sector aims to attract foreign investments and enhance national exports while providing jobs and upgrading human resource efficiency through training. The Council also highlighted efforts to maximize returns by targeting increased reliance on renewable energy and reducing fossil fuel consumption according to the national energy mix strategy.
