Photos: Egypt deploys troops to Gaza as part of International Stabilization Force
The US Department of State has published photos of Egyptian military personnel joining the International Stabilization Force (ISF) in Gaza, emphasizing that this is a highly crucial contribution from a nation neighboring the Palestinian enclave. On Friday, the US State Department’s account on the ‘X’ platform posted: “The Board of Peace: Egypt’s contributions will support the operations of the International Stabilization Force aimed at enhancing stability and security in the Gaza Strip.” It added: ‘As a country neighboring the Strip, Egypt’s participation and leadership in this joint effort are vital to the success of the mission.” A UN-mandated, multinational peacekeeping force was created as part of Gaza’s post-war transition following a late-2025 ceasefire. The UN Security Council-backed international body is responsible for managing Gaza’s transition, coordinating global funding, and overseeing humanitarian reconstruction. As a key neighbor bordering Gaza, Egypt acts as a core pillar of the ISF. Cairo advocates for a strict focus on peacekeeping—such as securing borders and training local Palestinian police—to ensure that ultimate governance remains in Palestinian hands.
